Thanks! Shame, there went that theory. More questions then:

1) does

    $ gst-inspect-1.0
/home/zybil/build/gstreamer/gst-plugins-good-1.0.2/gst/audioparsers/.libs/libgstaudioparsers.so

work? (ie. output info without warnings)


2) is your build directory != the source tree? (ie. do you run ./configure
inside the top-level source directory or in another directory?)


3) could you in .../gst-plugins-good-1.0.2/

 $ cd tests/check/
 $ rm -f test-registry.dat
 $ GST_CHECKS=test_parse_normal  GST_DEBUG=*:6 make
elements/ac3parse.check-norepeat 2>dbg.log

and attach the dbg.log file (gzipped or bzip2ed if necessary) ?
