Well, that you get these errors with sync=true already gives a good direction
where to look. There are clock problems between your source and sink hardware,
e.g. the rates are not what they're supposed to be (e.g. claims 44100Hz but is
44105Hz) and source produces not in the rate the sink wants to consume, or the
clock rates are not stable, or ...
