Can you try both of these and check what works or not?

gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src ! video/x-raw, width=1280, height=800 ! videoconvert !
xvimagesink
gst-launch-1.0 v4l2src ! video/x-raw, width=1280, height=720 ! videoconvert !
xvimagesink

My guess is that some resolutions are broken for some reason ?
