This bug doesn't make much sense.

 You can already compile against ffmpeg just by using ... the system-wide
libav* libraries (yes, they are named libavformat/libavcodec/libavutils ... but
are provided by both ffmpeg AND libav).

Just use --with-system-libav . Closing bug.
