I've checked it against gstreamer 1.4 and it seem to work fine. I do not have
enough motivation to check extensively (partly since I'm developing for Android
these days and partly since I also need to port my application to KF5 and I'd
like to have a rethink of engine design).

I'm taking liberty to mark this one as 'resolved' since I'd opened this report;
will get back if I've something to share/show.
