This sounds familiar, I think I had similar problems with gst-launch and using
rtspsrc directly sometimes. And this indeed also shows the same behaviour:
> gst-launch-1.0 rtspsrc location=rtsp://127.0.0.1:8554/test ! decodebin ! videoconvert ! ximagesink

For me it's in about 25% of the cases that it stops. I think with my previous
testing some time ago this also behaved different depending on whether
buffering is used (non-live case with known duration) or not.
