Hmm, I'd tried that and saw:

(lt-playback-test:18314): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_event_new_step: assertion
`rate > 0.0' failed

So I assumed that was "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, Dave".

If it's meant to work, then I guess I have something to debug right there :)
