Could you please expand on your suggestions for changes to my code. I think I
am already doing what you recommend.

Currently on GST_MESSAGE_EOS my cleanup function is called.

cleanup:
1)set the bus sync handler to NULL and unref the bus.
2)set pipleline to GST_STATE_NULL and unref the pipleline

Another pipeline is again built with gst_parse_launch in setupVideo
