That is a great observation.  Searching the Internet on "provide-clock", in
regards to alsasrc, yields a lot of interesting posts.  Wonder why then,
pulsesrc and jackaudiosrc (Pulse Audio and JACK utilize ALSA under-the-hood in
separate processes), do not exhibit this same behaviour.  Maybe because they
manage ALSA differently within a separate process?
