Just a note I discovered, in GLES2, GL_RGBA/GL_UNSIGNED_BYTE are the only
formats officially supported by glReadPixels (GLES3 has the RGB and ALPHA
variants as well).  So it will be difficult to download multi-planer formats
with GLES.
