I guess it is too late to merge a new API, but gnonlin/ges has a regression
after some already pushed patches.

Do you gnonlin/ges people have a solution/idea for 1.4?

Of course we can just go everywhere and fix returns without a standard API as
well and merge the API when we have enough time to review/change before a
release.
