I tested multiple period case on master branch.
It does NOT crash, yet it does NOT work well.
I reported the bug and also submitted a patch for that.
Please refer to bug 747449 .


For this crash and undefined behaviour in 1.4.5 branch, this bug and patch are
still open and waiting for review.
