The prefix is being explicitly set by cerbero, for whatever reason:

./configure --prefix /Users/jan/cerbero/dist/darwin_x86_64 --libdir
/Users/jan/cerbero/dist/darwin_x86_64/lib --enable-static --program-prefix=
--disable-examples --disable-gtk-doc --disable-docbook
--disable-maintainer-mode --disable-silent-rules --enable-introspection
--build=x86_64-apple-darwin12
