I just tried again on the latest tree. With those patches above and from
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=755260, the test case from
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=752623 runs for minutes before I get
bored and ^C it. I think there's still something iffy since I was getting
rare-ish memory corruption like issues before, even with those patches in, but
it's still a noticeable improvement. So I'm going to push those after a couple
hours to allow for any NAK to those latest versions.
