Ok, so it really depend on the use case. Maybe it could be configurable with
properties:

 - "pivot" property could be an enum {CENTER, ORIGIN}
 - "translation-normalized" boolean where FALSE means how it is now, and TRUE
means that translation happens after scale and implies pivot=origin, so
translation-x would be always in [-1,1] range?
