I'm not sure I understand Core Audio:

The AudioStreamBasicDescription ("ASBD") has member 'mChannelsPerFrame', and
supposedly we've already set up our stream format. Why does AudioBuffer
specifically contain 'mNumberChannels' but not other format properties?
