I think this is good to have as ultimate fallback. I don't think silence_fill
should be an error, it's weird if that happens, but we can just move on, as the
sink will fill in silence anyway most likely. I think it would also be nice to
log to the PERFORMANCE debug category, 'cause we really want to shortcut/skip
things earlier in the pipeline I think.
