I'm not sure either what the rationale behind that change was, it looks like
just an optimization (filtering not more caps than necessary).

But how is this causing problems exactly? The template caps (of amcvideodec)
would be filtered with the same filter previously the whole caps used. All
other caps that are part of the whole caps should already be filtered before,
are they not?
