Hi there upstream!

Downstream openSUSE here.

You found that the feature you needed was introduced in automake 1.12, yet you
elected to bump to 1.14 just because?

I'm now reverting this commit for openSUSE packages of gstreamer since the
oldest supported release we have has:

automake-1.13.4
autoconf-2.69.tar.gz

The above is from openSUSE 13.1, but we have the same versions in all released
and supported versions.

That means:
openSUSE 13.1 (released more than 2 years ago)
openSUSE 13.2
openSUSE Leap 42.1 (slated for release on 04/11/2015)

even SUSE's enterprise distro SLE 12 built fine when I reverted the above
commit.

(openSUSE Tumbleweed - rolling release have automake 1.14, so that was the only
one that built out of the box)

I'd be real happy if you would consider lowering the automake ver req to 1.13.4
so I don't have to revert commits :-)

I would reopen the bug, but it seems I do not have the proper credentials to do
so.
