vaapidecodebin ! video/x-raw(memory:DMABuf)! glimagesink now works on desktop (
tested with nouveau (with mesa st/va) and intel driver. See #755072
While running the pipeline you can see the dma buffers in use with:
sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/dma_buf/bufinfo
