Bug ID: 764673
Summary: blacklist non-supported backend drivers
Classification: Platform
Product: GStreamer
Version: git master
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: Normal
Component: gstreamer-vaapi
Assignee: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: vjaquez at igalia.com
QA Contact: gstreamer-bugs at lists.freedesktop.org
CC: bsreerenj at gmail.com, vjaquez at igalia.com
GNOME version: ---
There are a lot of complains from users who try gstreamer-vaapi using
unsupported/non-intel vaapi backends.
We need to detect what backend is using the client and then we have two
options:
1\ show a flashy warning that they are using an unsupported backend and some
use case might not work at all.
2\ directly bail out the vaapi element and let the autoplug to choose another
element.
