Interesting, I'm also using mips (BCM7409, BCM7231) boxes and have not yet been
bitten by this problem. Of course that's the problem with race conditions, they
are very sensitive to the execution environment. At least it's readily
reproducible for you, so we have at least one person who can test fixes!
