What version of the gst-omx module are you using (found with gst-inspect-1.0
omx | grep Version)? If it is really 1.0.0, I would suggest updating to at
least 1.2.0 and possibly even 1.9.1 (requires at least 1.9.1 of gstreamer core
and bad) if you can.

Some basic information like a backtrace of all threads at the freeze/crash
would be useful to know what exactly we're dealing with.  Does running your
application with GST_DEBUG=3 reveal any obvious errors?  You could try higher
levels but they will quickly result in a lot of output.

Make sure you have the latest version of the rpi userland as well to ensure
you're not hitting any known bugs there.
