Here is how to reproduce from the commandline, with raspi2png to capture
output.

This uses raspi2png [1] and an input file 1.jpg

$ timeout 5s gst-launch-1.0 filesrc location=1.jpg ! decodebin ! imagefreeze !
glimagesink & sleep 1 && raspi2png


Output goes to a file called snapshot.png (which is black in this case, but
contains an image if a png is input).
