It's something unique to tutorial-5.  Running the video with a different
GStreamer app works flwalessly.

Profiling the java side, I see that every 250ms, 100ms of CPU time is taken up
by updating the position/slider which is an awful waste of CPU.

One can probably reproduce my results by using and changing the pipeline in
tutorial-3.
