I don't think it's an either/or decision, nor one we have to make right now.

I also think it'd be fair enough to say that playbin2 is no longer fully
maintained but still there for backwards compat for those who don't want to
switch over. That's what we did with playbin1 after all. I don't think it's
really a problem (wasn't then either).
