Might also be because VLC on Debian uses librtmp (and so does ffmpeg), while on
Fedora (Fedora has VLC and ffmpeg?!) it uses the ffmpeg implementation for
RTMP. librtmp seems rather bitrotten and non-working in general, while ffmpeg
has a implementation that works more often.
