Ah I forgot to reply here, sorry. From what I remember, OPEN happens in
READY->PAUSED, and then all the other commands happen in PAUSED->PLAYING.

It might make sense to ensure that OPEN can actually be handled/performed
before going to PAUSED->PLAYING, and to maybe even block the READY->PAUSED
transition on its completion.
