Well, at least it's not a GStreamer bug. Please go ahead and close it.
Given the camera firmware can't be updated (AFAIK), that leaves V4L2, I guess.
Do you think it is proper to report the issue to them?
As for a workaround, I'm a novice with GStreamer, and so far I have only used
gst-launch. I don't think I can do much about this issue in the short term.

What I'll do is try to dissect what the autovideosink element is doing to avoid
the issue, and mimic it on my own pipeline.
