This fixes a rather serious leak that could happen in your case (and any other
case involving a GL filter).  Feel free to reopen if the leak still exists.

    glbasefilter: actually indicate start internally

    Otherwise when we stop, the necessary stop functions will not be called
    and things may be leaked.
