this problem does not happen in 1.6 branch, while I can reproduce it in 1.12
and git master, the main difference seems that in 1.6 when a backward timestamp
is detected a resync is scheduled, while in 1.12 the previous timestamp is
used, tomorrow I'll do some other tests to better understand the different
behaviour
