I've been given the go-ahead to use GStreamer for a demo coming up in a
month, where we need to demonstrate that we can actually use the 155Mbps
pipe between OGI and PSU that'll be lit around that time. That means
sending raw video across the network.
My plan is to get mpeg2dec hacked into submission, in several parts more
amenable to high performance and recombination. From there I'll be
writing up some network components, maybe an RTP client/server pair. We
also want to set up a simple scalable transport encoding of raw YUV
images, so we can dial the bandwidth consumed by the stream.
First trick is to get a getbits implementation working nicely with
loop-function based elements. Then I will get the pipeline dealing with
loop functions and cothreads and stuff...
Time to go hack..,
