On a somewhat related note... Debian has finally got
lib{Xv,Xxf86vm,Xxf86dga}_pic.a libs now!  In the xlibs-pic package.  So
we can actually link to those and build Xv based plugins that work on
more the x86.  Yeah!  Does RedHat or other dists have a similar fix?
I'm unsure how to deal with it in the build process.  For the debs I can
just hack it in but maybe we should have some configure flag to use such
libs?
