I just copied in some patches from CVS to get FLAC to build.  And I
enabled the avi dir but the wincodec dir is conditionally built when
avifile is present.

Huh? That built ok for me.  (not tested though)  Perhaps i brought in
some more changes from CVS with the FLAC stuff...

What are you doing for libmpeg2?  I just made debs for it but doing a
shared lib version with -fPIC slows it down ~7%.  Tempting to just link
in a faster static version.   Walken thinks newer libtools let you
compile without PIC stuff though.
