hmm, true. In academia you're either doing Image Processing or Digital
Signal Processing.

However 'filters' still doesn't imply synthesising plugins like sinesrc.
There could be another top-level called 'synthesis', or 'filter' could be
named 'processor'.

I think I favour 'processor'.
