[gst-devel] ppc compiling

hallo all...
I am new and so hallo to all!

I am trying to compile gstreamer on a powerbook under yellow dog linux 
2.3.

I am a beginner and not too inside compilation, more than ./configure 
make make install I don't go yet...
the problem is that I have installed Glib 2.0 and still when I 
./configure to install gstreamer I get a configure: error: GStreamer 
requires Glib 2.0 to compile...
any mercyful suggestion?

other thing, wich is the most easy to use development toolkit to start 
playing around with gstreamer and program something??
