[gst-devel] Sticking with GNOME 1.4 for now

Well,

  I've made the decision to stick with using GNOME 1.4 as the desktop
for the time being, until GNOME 2.x stabilizes and more apps are ported
to it, so all the work won't have to be done in Elysium. This will make
actually producing the Elysium distribution and getting a beta or
something out a lot quicker. It also means that GStreamer will not be
an integral part of the desktop for the first few betas and possibly the
first release. However, GStreamer will be a core part of the desktop as
soon as we move to GNOME 2.x.
