taaz helped me test this a bit on irc.  Here's the first 2M of the
mpeg file:

  ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/redael/nausicaa-short.mpg

Can someone try to play this through libmpeg2 CVS?  I bet you
can reproduce the problem which i am running into.
