Ok, guys, false alarm.

I didn't have some of the plug-ins registered.

What this does mean though is that the code that re-builds the registry is
NOT working.

This is a pretty important issue since this was supposed to be working.

Which leads me to think three things :

a) we really need a design document for all things pertaining the registry 
so at least the code can be checked against the design.  Now we just 
randomly "fix" stuff.

b) it might be better to put in gst-register in all packages again until 
this is fixed. 

c) I still think it'd be nice if there was an option to run gst-register 
on an .so file, so that this would quickly load the registry, add the one 
plug-in, and save it.  It would make running gst-register in every rpm or 
deb a lot quicker.


Now, for the good news ;)

my gconf key for videosink reads agingTV ! colorspace ! xvideosink

and that works.  Watching AlienSong at full-screen with agingTV filter 
rocks ;)
