Well since that time there has been a stable release of GStreamer and a release of
Gst-player working which is suppose to work with that release. GStreamer
has also started to be bundled with distrobutions meaning that more of
the pre-req libraries are already installed.
Latest net-rhythmbox was released today which also should compile and
run easily.
That you had trouble months ago is sad, but a fact that happens when you
start using apps out of CVS.
