I'm waiting for someone to look over the automakification of ffmpeg
that I did recently (patch on some bug).  The sucessful outcome would
be people saying "that's insane, but it works."

Sounds reasonable.  I've been tracking the bug list for a while, and
it doesn't look like there's much that applies to 0.6 that people
are likely to work on.  Perhaps a qtdemux backport, but that isn't
really useful unless ffmpeg is backported, too.  There are a number
of patches that need to be checked and merged, though.
