Judging from the output of the xml check it seems you have xml stuff
badly installed in /usr, while you seem to say you have stuff installed
in /usr/local as well.  That sounds more like a broken setup.  Anyway,
it is normal for GStreamer not to pick up stuff in /usr/local unless you
have your system configured to look there for stuff.
