I think you have some things mixed up.

a) if gcc can't find the main funct for a plug-in, that's completely 
normal.  Plugins aren't supposed to have a main function.

b) I have no idea why you would run gdb with --enable-plugin-build-dir.

So, please :

a) explain a bit better what exactly it is you're doing.
- what exactly are you compiling ? Our stuff ? Your stuff ?
- why do you use gdb to debug compilation and build issues ?

b) be more verbose in describing your problem; explain to us exactly what 
you do and what you type and what errors you get.
