I can't figure it out.  Try it with & without videocrop:

  ./gst-launch --gst-debug-no-color filesrc location=/local/aleader/trans.mpg ! mpegdemux ! mpeg2dec ! videocrop  ! colorspace ! pngenc ! filesink location=/tmp/frame.png
