[gst-devel] can't show video

Hi again.

So I'm trying to do some simple testing, but I can't get gst-launch to
play video (audio works fine).  gst-player can open a .mpg file and
play it ok though.

I try using videotestsrc, and this is what happens:

The window pops up briefly then disappears without showing any video in
it.  What's going wrong?  I have apt-get installed gstreamer-{misc,x}.
It seems to be version 0.6.1 of gstreamer.
