Xine uses ffmpeg for most of its stuff. Using xine itself is a quick
hack and most of us won't like it license-wise. The correct solution is
to improve ffmpeg wrapping. We support quite some ffmpeg formats
already, but many are also unfinished (i.e. they work "sort of", but not
well) or don't work at all.

I'm working on this once in a while, but it's a lot of work and I work
more on encoding than decoding anyway... If you need specific formats to
work, I can give you hints on how ffmpeg wrapping works so you can try
to make that format working. Jeremy did that some time ago for wmav1.
