Hi devels,

this is to remind you that CVS HEAD for the GStreamer core module is now
frozen until the 0.8.4 release is out. This means noone is allowed to
commit code that hasn't been approved via a bug until then.

What does that mean for the ordinary GStreamer developer?
1) Every bug that should be fixed in your opinion before the release needs
to be marked blocker in bugzilla. One of the criteria for release is that
there are no more blockers.
2) If you have code that you think should be in the 0.8.4 release, attach
it to a bug and mark that bug blocker.
3) If you are a packager, you should now test the prereleases and file
bugs for stuff that doesn't work in them as blocker so your patches to
the release don't grow later on. (This point is dedicated to one special
person. ;))

Someone will do prereleases tomorrow (which are basically the result of
make dist on current cvs HEAD). After that we'll have a phase of three
days where you can find bugs in those - or find them in cvs HEAD, it's the
same anyway.

The release is expected on Monday, 19th.

Benjamin

PS: Someone asked this, frozen cvs includes the docs. So even doc updates
need to wade through bugzilla before they can be committed right now.
