GStreamer itself is just a library to enable people to do just that. It is 
certainly possible to stream content or similar to different processes or 
desktops, but it is a different problem domain than what GStreamer does - 
higher up the stack.

I know about Warsaw Pakt ( http://subsignal.org/pakt/ ), that tries to do 
something like that.
