[gst-devel] Atomic operations

Hi,

I'm installing GStreamer-0.8 on an SMP system running
kernel 2.4.20-28.8smp
(RedHat 8).  When I run the configure script, I get
the following message:

configure:23856: WARNING: Atomic reference counting is
out of date: doing without.

I checked and asm/atomic.h doesn't have atomic_inc()
and atomic_add().  What
should I do to enable those?  I know Gstreamer has its
own atomic code, will it
use that instead?  And if I'm using Glib-2.4, I guess
GObjects will use atomic
operations for reference counting, right?
