Hi,

I see a large difference in CPU usage when I play the following H264 
file http://media.nero.com/Standard_720x576_1500KBits.mp4 in totem or 
with ffplay (The command line player of ffmpeg )

With totem + gstreamer-ffmpeg 0.8.4 cpu usage is 100%
With ffplay only 30%

Why is this?
Does gstreamer + totem generate so much overhead? Or did the Ubuntu 
maintainer not build the plugins with the right optimizations.

BTW also mpeg files played with totem seems to be more CPU hungry then 
when played with ffplay or mplayer
